  • 1 scoop strawberry ice cream

Toppings:

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple chunks (drained)
  • Whipped cream (as desired)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional, for crunch)
  • 3 maraschino cherries (one for each scoop of ice cream)

Optional Additions:

  • Sprinkles, caramel sauce, or cookie crumbs for variety.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Banana

  1. Peel the banana and slice it lengthwise into two equal halves.
  2. Place the banana halves in a long, shallow dish or banana split bowl, with the cut sides facing inward.

Step 2: Add the Ice Cream

  1. Scoop one ball each of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream.
  2. Arrange the scoops in a row between the banana halves, ensuring even spacing.

Step 3: Drizzle the Toppings

  1. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the chocolate ice cream.
  2. Spoon strawberry sauce over the strawberry scoop.
  3. Add pineapple chunks on top of the vanilla ice cream.

Step 4: Garnish with Whipped Cream and Nuts

  1. Pipe or spoon a generous swirl of whipped cream over each scoop of ice cream.
  2. Sprinkle chopped nuts across the dessert for added crunch (optional).

Step 5: Add the Finishing Touch

  1. Top each swirl of whipped cream with a maraschino cherry for a classic look.

Step 6: Serve Immediately

  1. Serve the banana split immediately to ensure the ice cream doesn’t melt.
  2. Enjoy your delicious homemade treat!

Optional: Customize Your Banana Split

  • Add extras like sprinkles, caramel sauce, or cookie crumbs for a personal touch.
  • For a healthier version, use frozen yogurt or blend frozen bananas as a base.
