About Me – Julia & Grandma’s Kitchen
Hello and welcome to LardeRecipes.com! My name is Julia, and this blog is not just about food—it’s about love, memories, and the beautiful journey of cooking with my grandmother. If you love homemade meals, stories from the heart, and the magic of family traditions, then you’re in the right place.

Where It All Began
My love for cooking started long before I even realized it. I grew up in my grandmother’s kitchen, sitting on the counter while she prepared the most delicious meals. Her kitchen was always warm, filled with the comforting scent of freshly baked bread, simmering sauces, and the sweet aroma of cakes cooling on the table.
My grandmother has always been my biggest inspiration. She is the kind of person who can turn the simplest ingredients into a masterpiece, all while telling stories about her childhood, her mother’s recipes, and the importance of cooking with love. She never used fancy gadgets or complicated techniques just her hands, her heart, and a lifetime of experience.
I remember being a little girl, barely tall enough to reach the countertop, watching her knead dough with patience and care. She would always give me a small piece to play with, telling me that every great chef starts with small hands. “Cooking is not just about feeding people, Julia,” she would say with a smile. “It’s about making them feel at home.”
My First Recipe
One of my earliest memories is making cookies with my grandmother. She let me mix the butter and sugar while she carefully added the eggs and flour. I was so proud when we placed the tray in the oven, watching through the glass as the cookies slowly turned golden brown. When they were finally ready, she handed me the first one, still warm and soft. “Always taste your food with love,” she said.
That was the moment I knew—I wanted to cook forever.

Lessons from Grandma’s Kitchen
Growing up, I spent almost every afternoon in my grandmother’s kitchen. She taught me everything—how to chop onions without crying (though I still do sometimes!), how to tell when pasta is perfectly cooked, and the secret to making the fluffiest pancakes.
But more than that, she taught me the heart of cooking.
She always said that recipes are more than just instructions; they are stories passed down through generations. A bowl of soup can remind someone of their childhood, a slice of cake can bring back a forgotten memory, and a simple homemade meal can make someone feel loved.
One of the most important things she taught me was never to waste food. “Respect every ingredient,” she would say, “because someone worked hard to grow it.” So, in our kitchen, nothing ever went to waste. We made broth from leftover vegetables, turned old bread into delicious puddings, and used every part of the chicken to make rich, flavorful meals.
Growing Up & Finding My Own Cooking Style
As I grew older, my passion for cooking only deepened. I started experimenting with new flavors, trying different cuisines, and even creating my own recipes. But no matter how many new dishes I tried, I always came back to the recipes my grandmother taught me.
She never stopped encouraging me. Whenever I tried something new, she would be the first to taste it, always giving her honest opinion. If something was too salty, she would laugh and say, “Julia, did you measure with your heart again?” If something was perfect, she would close her eyes, smile, and say, “This tastes like home.”
Starting LardeRecipes.com
One day, my grandmother and I were sitting at the kitchen table, flipping through her old handwritten recipe book. I realized that these recipes these beautiful family traditions—needed to be shared with the world.
That’s when the idea for LardeRecipes.com was born.
I wanted a place where I could document my grandmother’s incredible recipes, share my own creations, and inspire others to find the joy in home cooking. Every recipe on this blog comes with a story, just like the ones she used to tell me while we cooked together.
Cooking Today – Keeping Traditions Alive
Today, my grandmother and I still cook together whenever we can. She’s older now, but her hands still move with the same grace, her recipes still hold the same magic, and her kitchen still feels like the safest place in the world.
